A top sports apparel brand needed to reach a younger audience. The solution: They’re not just a sports apparel brand.

‘47, one of the main suppliers of officially-licensed professional sports headwear, was looking to grow sales by advertising to a younger customer. They and their major retail partner Lids would need to think beyond ecommerce product photography if they wanted to connect with a highly authentic, diverse, individualistic demo like Gen Z. That’s when Creative Compound was brought in: to reconceive ‘47’s brand voice for social media and more.

Creative Compound’s Jeff Markowitz and his team of experts set out to expand ‘47 beyond the confines of the sports apparel space — by repositioning them as an active, fashion-forward lifestyle brand. Thousands of high-res street images and videos drew attention to more than just the iconic vintage hats, but to the young iconoclasts who wear them. We used this new brand ethos to build out ‘47’s Facebook and Instagram presence, as well as their B2B marketing efforts.

‘47 instantly saw boosted e-commerce sales in the 18-25 year-old dem, as well as increased traffic throughout Instagram, Facebook, and brick-and-mortar retail stores like Lids. Our campaign was such a resounding success, ‘47 has continued to rely on Creative Compound for a steady stream of high-performing—and authentic—branded social content.
